Simon Edwards originates from Bristol and is now one of London’s leading bass players. Early on in his career he developed a taste for Afro-Cuban, Latin American and North African music. His collection of bass instruments from all over the world is staggering.
A modest man by nature, Simon Edwards is actually one of Music For Sport‘s pop stars, having been a member of chart-topping band Fairground Attraction in the late 1980s.
Since then Simon Edwards has recorded and toured with numerous artists including Beth Gibbons, Afro Celts, Kirsty McColl, Talk Talk, Joseph Arthur, Billy Bragg, Julian Lennon, Brian Eno, Juliette Greco, Kathryn Williams, Raphael, Roy Orbison, Alain Bashung and Rumer.
