Paul Elliott

Musician, composer, producer and filmmaker Paul Elliott has spent over a decade writing and producing both Commercial and Production music. His music is featured in TV shows and Commercials in the US, UK & Europe. He has released music with international publishers including EMI, KPM, Warner Chappell, Warner Music and more.

His work as a filmmaker includes directing music videos, featurettes, and directing two critically acclaimed feature length music documentaries Youth – Sketch, Drugs & Rock N’ Roll starring world renowned musicians Paul McCartney, David Gilmour & Boy George; and The Library Music Film, the first and definitive film to explore the golden age of recording and library music as told by the original composers and contemporary tastemakers, DJs, record collectors and music producers.

Paul Elliott started his musical career at a very young age, ‘sitting in’ on percussion at gigs with his father’s bands. He then spent his teens fully immersed in London’s club scene, DJing at hip hop, funk and breaks nights, and fast becoming the ‘warm up DJ of choice’. He worked the dance floor for acts including The Bays, Alison Limerick, Tom Middleton (Global Communication/Jedi Knights), JTQ; and he played after show parties for artists including Snoop Dogg.

DJing led to Paul’s first experience of library music, when he discovered the incredible sounds contained in the ultra rare and super funky library LPs released decades earlier by publishers including KPM & DeWolfe. Inspired by the music he was playing in clubs, and gaining an understanding of arrangement, instrumentation and what works for a dance floor, Paul began working as a tape-op at independent studios in London, learning on the job, crate digging, and all the while buying gear and building his own studio to work on his productions.

In 2007 Paul signed his first record deal and has not looked back, composing, producing, engineering and performing on over 50 albums and countless singles and production music cues.

Not content with sitting in the studio, Paul is also a touring session musician, playing percussion with acts including Jonathan Jeremiah, German funk outfit The Mighty Mocambos, yacht rockers Young Gun Silver Fox, and blues supremo Chris Corcoran.

Now based in Suffolk, UK, Paul is busier than ever working on his own compositions, library music, co-writing, producing and recording remote sessions for international artists and bands.
